    Push Notifications

Web Push notifications are a Professional/Business plan feature. Not included on Starter or a trial. Telegram and ntfy alerts below are still available on every plan.

Get a real notification on this device the moment an alert-enabled site goes offline or comes back. Works even when the app isn't open. This is separate from the in-app bell, which only shows activity while you're already looking at the app.

    Screensaver

    App Lock

Set a 4-digit PIN and the app will lock itself after a period of inactivity. Anyone at your screen sees a PIN prompt instead of your sites and passwords, without needing to sign in again once you enter it. This device only; each person's PIN is their own.

    Manage Site Types

    RADIUS Link

Every ISP has its own RADIUS server. Set the login URL for yours once here, and the "RADIUS" button in the header will open it directly for everyone in your organization.

    Data Backup

Full data backup/export is a Professional and Business plan feature. Not included on Starter or a trial.

Everything: sites, categories, types, map places, and Cisco/MikroTik notes, in one file. Keep a copy somewhere safe. This is the only backup of this data outside Supabase itself.

    ⚠️ Danger zone

Reset the whole app. Start over with a brand-new app: all your network elements, links, map places, work orders, notes, history and settings are deleted. Your users, your plan and the Agent keep working.

    Desktop App

The desktop app and one-click field tools (Ping/Traceroute/SSH/Winbox/PuTTY) are a Professional/Business feature. Not included on Starter or on a trial.

The Toponexa desktop app gives you the full app plus one-click Ping/Traceroute/SSH/Winbox/PuTTY on any site, right from its own window. No browser tab needed.

    ⬇ Download Desktop App (Windows)

Needs Windows 10/11 (uses Microsoft Edge WebView2, already built into current Windows. Not available on Windows 7/8.1). On Windows 7 (or any older Windows), use the web app in your browser instead, plus the free Local Helper running in the background for the same one-click Ping/Traceroute/SSH/Winbox/PuTTY there too.

On Linux (Debian/Kali/Ubuntu), run this one command in a terminal. It installs everything needed and adds a Toponexa icon to your app menu and Desktop:

curl -fsSL https://app.toponexa.com/downloads/install-linux.sh | bash Copied.

    Agent Setup

The Agent isn't included on the Professional trial. It's available once you subscribe, or right away on the Starter trial.

For real background ping monitoring (not just manual site tracking) on an always-on PC, download the Toponexa Agent. It uses your Agent Token below, not a login. It is a normal program with its own window and a tray icon (no command prompt): it shows whether monitoring is running, how many sites are up or down, and can start automatically when you sign in.

    ⬇ Download Agent (Windows 8.1 / 10 / 11) ⬇ Download Agent (Windows 7)

Linux (desktop or server, Python 3.9+). One command in a terminal installs the agent for your user and adds it to your applications menu. For a server with no screen, add --service to run it in the background:

curl -fsSL https://app.toponexa.com/downloads/install-agent-linux.sh | bash Copied.

First time you open it, paste your Agent Token (below) when asked. When a newer version is out, the agent shows an Update now button.

Not sure which Agent build? Use the Windows 8.1+ version unless the PC is specifically running Windows 7. Microsoft ended all security updates for Windows 7 in 2020, so the Win8.1+ build is the one that gets ongoing improvements.

🆕 A newer Agent version is available. Open the Toponexa Agent window on that PC and click Update now (agents older than 1.7 don't have that button: download the new one above once, and updates are one click from then on).

Regenerating invalidates the old token immediately. Any agent already running with it will start failing until you update it with the new one.

    Agent Status

Only one copy of the agent can run per organization at a time. Starting it somewhere while it's already running elsewhere (e.g. still running at home when you try to start it at work) gets refused with an error instead of silently running two copies.

    Checking...

Stop requested: it'll shut down within its next check cycle (up to a minute).

    Alert Channels (optional)

Org-wide alerts sent by the agent when any alert-enabled site changes status. Separate from each person's own personal notifications (set from the Users tab).

Get these in ~2 minutes: message @BotFather on Telegram -> /newbot, then message your new bot anything, then message @userinfobot to get your chat ID.

Simpler alternative to Telegram: pick any hard-to-guess topic name, then subscribe to it in the ntfy app (iOS/Android) or at ntfy.sh/your-topic-name in a browser.

Choose where Toponexa sends your site offline / back-online alerts. These follow you on any device you sign in on. Turn alerts on for each site in Network Elements (Edit site > Alerts).

    Not set up

Install the free ntfy app (iPhone or Android), then press the button. Toponexa creates a private, hard-to-guess topic for you and shows a QR code to subscribe with.

iPhone: install the free ntfy app, tap +, paste the topic name below and tap Subscribe. Scanning the QR code on an iPhone only opens a web page, and iPhones don't alert from web pages in the background.

Android: install the free ntfy app, then scan the QR code or press Open in ntfy app.

    Open in ntfy app (Android)

Anyone who knows the topic name can read these alerts, so don't share the QR code. "New topic" makes a fresh one and stops the old one.

You still choose which sites send alerts in Network Elements. Toponexa's alert relay applies these switches. Site offline/back-online alerts need Agent 1.8.0 or newer, and ntfy for the other alerts needs Agent 1.9.0 or newer running (Telegram does not).

    Not connected

Add the Toponexa bot to your team's Telegram group and send one command there. Outages, recoveries and escalations are then posted in the group, each with an Acknowledge button.

    1. Open your team's Telegram group and add the Toponexa bot as a member (group info > Add members).
    2. In that group, send this message:

Waiting for the group... this code works for .

    What the group receives:

If nobody acknowledges an outageAlert the owner and admins again, and the company group

🔒 Escalation is available on the Business plan. Upgrade in Billing to turn it on.

When a real outage is still open and nobody pressed Acknowledge (on the site in Toponexa, or the button on the Telegram alert), Toponexa alerts the owner and admins again after the time you choose, and repeats up to the limit. Acknowledging stops it. Sites in maintenance are never escalated.

    VPN connections

VPN connections from the app are a Professional/Business feature. Not included on Starter or on a trial.

Connect to your network's VPN right from Toponexa instead of Windows' "Add a VPN connection". Each connection is saved to your account (the password is stored encrypted) and is dialled on this PC by the Toponexa desktop app or the Local Helper. A website can't open a VPN by itself. While it is connected, Ping, Winbox, SSH, Open Device and the Agent on this PC reach the sites directly, with no NAT rules.

Only the networks you list in a connection go through the VPN. The rest of this PC's internet traffic does not. PPTP is the oldest VPN type and its encryption is broken, so use a long, unique password for it, and prefer SSTP or L2TP/IPsec if your router supports them.

      Topology Health

Duplicate IP+port conflicts (org-wide), plus fiber-tagged sites that never actually connect back to an OLT. Doesn't apply to Wireless Topology. A network there is expected to have its own root site with no parent.

      Topology Snapshots

A point-in-time copy of the whole tree, so you can see what's changed since a given day. Not a restore/undo, just a comparison.

      PON Capacity

Every PON ranked by how full it is, with a rough "days until full" projection based on how fast clients have been added recently.

      Discovered Devices

ONUs seen directly on an OLT's own SNMP-reported list. "New" means it's physically connected but not yet added as a site in Toponexa. Could be a legitimate new install, or a device nobody added.

⚡ Flappiest Wireless Links. Last 7 Days

      🌍 Regional Outages

Sites currently offline AND geographically close together (within roughly 1km). Often means one shared cause (power outage, upstream failure, interference) rather than unrelated incidents.

      📶 Sector Capacity

Any node with wireless clients, ranked by how full it is (set Max Ports on a site's Edit form to enable tracking). Client count only: not yet based on real traffic/airtime load.

      📡 Channel Conflicts

Sectors within ~1km of each other whose channels overlap. Based on the exact Frequency (MHz) + Channel Width you set per link in Edit Link. Only checks sectors where that's actually been entered.

      💰 Backhaul Oversubscription

Sum of connected customers' plan speeds (set per site) vs. this sector's own declared backhaul capacity (set in Edit Link). Only shows sectors where at least one customer plan speed has been entered.

      Import Network Elements from CSV

Supports these columns (any order, case-insensitive header names): name, category, and type (all three required), parent (exact name of an existing element, or one listed earlier in this same file), area, ip_address, link_type (fiber/wireless/backbone), notes. Category and type must match names you already use (not case-sensitive). Nothing is auto-created, so a typo is reported as an error instead of silently creating a duplicate category. For device credentials, SNMP, and other advanced fields, import the basics here first, then fill those in per-site with Edit afterward.

      Preview

      Recent Changes

Every create or edit to a network element, newest first. Undo restores that element's fields to what they were right before this change. It doesn't touch anything changed since. Deleting an element isn't covered here; that already warns you about downstream impact before it happens.

      Optical Power History:

Manually-entered readings over time. No OLT reports optical power over SNMP for any vendor this app supports yet, so this reflects whatever's been typed into RX/TX Power on Edit Site, same as the current reading itself. Each edit is one more point.

      Rotate Password

Logs in with the username/password already saved for this device, changes it to the new password below, then confirms the new one actually works before saving it here. Nothing is guessed or brute-forced. Applies within about a minute, whenever the background agent next checks in.

      Add VPN connection

Internet and everything else on this PC stay on your normal connection. Sites behind the router at the other end can then be reached by ping, Winbox, SSH and the app, like on a normal Windows VPN.

      Reset the whole app?

This permanently deletes your data and cannot be undone.

      Will be deleted:

      • All network elements and everything attached to them: links, ports, topology, wireless and fiber data, photos
      • Map places and lines
      • Work orders, notes and playbook notes, device backups, password rotation jobs
      • Monitoring history, incidents, the activity log and the alert delivery log
      • Your categories and element types (replaced with the standard ones)
      • Alert settings for the organization: company Telegram group, escalation, organization Telegram / ntfy, RADIUS link
      • Arcade scores

      Will stay:

      • Your organization, all users and their roles, your plan and billing
      • The Agent and its token (it keeps running, with no sites to check)
      • Sign-in history, and each person's own settings (theme, alert channels, VPN connections)
